About Rose City
The United States Pony Clubs, Inc., develops character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community in youth through a program that teaches the care of horses and ponies, riding and mounted sports.
Rose City Pony Club was founded in 2010 and is a part of the Oregon Region of United States Pony Clubs. Our members primarily reside on the west side of the Portland metro area in Beaverton, Sherwood, Newberg, Hillsboro and NW Portland.
We meet on a monthly basis for educational meetings. Meetings are focused on all things "horse management" including proper grooming, trailer safety, tack cleaning, bandaging, equine diseases, toxic plants, deworming, etc. Pony Club has a progressive curriculum that teaches beginner riders through advanced riders what they need to know to care for and ride their horse in the safest, most knowledgable manner.
We source local experts and instructors as well as various upper level pony club members to present and teach at our unmounted meetings. We also collaborate with other clubs throughout Oregon and SW Washington to offer a range of additional mounted and unmounted opportunities.
USPC Pony Clubs and Riding Centers are assigned to one of 41 geographical regions, which are administered by a volunteer Regional Supervisor (RS) and other appointed and elected officers. Regions offer additional activities and opportunities for members and support for the club and center leaders under their administration.
Rose City Pony Club is part of the Oregon Region.
