Rose City

Welcome to Rose City Pony Club!

The biggest myth about Pony Club is that you have to ride a pony to belong.  Actually Pony Club's origin dates back to England where all horses, regardless of their size, were called ponies if they were being ridden by youth. In reality the mounts used in Pony Club are in some cases small ponies and in other cases are 17+ hand draft horses.  We welcome all!

Rose City Pony Club was founded in 2010 and is a part of the Oregon Region of United States Pony Clubs.  Our members primarily reside on the west side of the Portland metro area in Beaverton, Sherwood, Newberg, Hillsboro and NW Portland.  Pony Club offers an unparalleled equine education for all, whether you are a beginning rider or have been riding for years.

We meet on a monthly basis for educational meetings.  Meetings are focused on all things "horse management" including proper grooming, trailer safety, tack cleaning, bandaging, equine diseases, toxic plants, deworming, veterinary care, horse sports, etc.  Pony Club has a progressive curriculum that teaches beginner riders through advanced riders what they need to know to care for and ride their horse in the safest, most knowledgable manner.

The greatest thing about becoming a member of Pony Club is that you have regular opportunities to be among like-minded, horse loving, peers.

Interested in joining our club?  We’d love to meet you!  Please contact Bill Frank for more information.

Pony Club Pledge:  As a member of USPC, I stand for the best in sportsmanship, as well as horsemanship. I shall compete for the enjoyment of the game well played and take winning and losing in stride, remembering that without good manners and good temper, sport loses its cause for being.  I shall endeavor to maintain the best traditions of the ancient and noble skill of horsemanship, always treating my horse with the consideration due a partner.
